I AM SAM DOBBINS

and I am a photographer, car enthusiast, and animal lover.

As long as I can remember, cars, dirt bikes and snowmobiles were a pivotal part of my childhood. As I got older, soccer and music became instrumental parts of my life, eventually leading me to my first camera—a byproduct of wanting to get better photos of my musician friends.

However, as soon as that camera clicked, everything changed. I doubled down on photography shortly after getting my drivers license, and the cultish community of Volkswagens took me in.

Nearly two decades later, I am still chasing cars with cameras.

I’ve traveled globally capturing cars, the companies that build them and the people who own them. I’ve called all four corners of the contiguous United States home, starting in Washington, then to West Virginia, Massachusetts, Miami and now, Southern California.

Nowadays, after a decade on the client-side of the process, reinventing aftermarket automotive brands and telling their visual stories, I am on my own again.

From quick, spur of the moment photo sessions to extensive, narrative-driven video productions, I just want to do great work that we will all be proud of. I want to learn the nitty, gritty details of how a manufacturing process works and hold back tears with a heartfelt interview. And if you need help figuring out how to get the most value out of what we create once it’s completed, I can help build a publishing plan for you too.

Let’s make cool stuff together.
